Concrete Pads Tyler TX - Shed, Hot Tub, AC, Generator & RV Pads
A small pad looks like the easiest pour on the list, right up until it tilts an inch after the first wet spring and the shed door won't close. We pour level, well-drained pads for storage sheds, hot tubs, condensers and mini-splits, standby generators, trailers, boats and RVs around Tyler.

Pads We Pour
- Shed pads. HomeGuide says shed slabs are usually about 4 inches thick and often unreinforced, and puts a 10' x 10' to 20' x 20' shed slab at $600 to $4,800 nationally.
- Hot tub and spa pads. A filled spa is a heavy point load. Angi's guidance is 6 to 8 inches of concrete with reinforcement for hot tubs, and we size the pad to the tub maker's footprint and drain access.
- AC, heat pump and generator pads. Equipment pads need to sit level and a little above grade so rain and yard runoff don't pool around the unit. Bring the model and the installer's clearance requirements to the quote.
- RV, boat and trailer pads. HomeGuide lists RV pads of 200 to 700 square feet at $1,200 to $8,400 nationally. Tyler's code, Sec. 10-380, says vehicles in every zone must be parked on an improved surface, so an RV or boat in the side yard needs a pad, not grass.

Why Small Pads Settle
Small pads usually settle for three reasons: they were set on topsoil, the base wasn't compacted, or roof or yard water runs under one edge. The Handbook of Texas describes much of Smith County as loam over clay, and clay that stays wet loses strength. We strip the topsoil, compact a base, set the forms level (or with a slight fall where water has to shed), and look at where the downspouts point.

Building on a Pad Inside the City
If the pad will carry a shed or other accessory building inside the city limits, the City's Development FAQ says the foundation must meet setback requirements, and an existing slab without perimeter or bearing footings needs them added under Chapter 4 of the 2021 IRC. Tell us the building's size and spot before we form the pad, and we can pour it with thickened edges where the plan calls for them. Front-yard paving has its own limit under Sec. 10-380, covered on our driveway extensions page.
Bigger slabs for shops and barns are on barndominium and shop slabs.
