Concrete Removal Tyler TX - Slab Tear-Out, Haul-Off & Replacement
Some concrete can't be saved: a patio heaved by an old oak, a walk broken into plates, a slab that's been patched so many times nothing matches. We break it out, haul it off, fix what's underneath and, if you want, pour new.

What We Remove
- Patios, walks, steps and stoops
- Garage and shop floors
- Old pads, footings and slabs where a shed or pool used to be
- Single panels in an otherwise sound slab
Driveways have their own page: concrete driveway replacement.

National Removal Prices
HomeGuide's national figures for removal alone:
- 10' x 10' slab: $300 to $800.
- 20' x 20' patio: $1,200 to $3,000.
- 50 feet of sidewalk: $750 to $1,250.
- Concrete steps: $250 to $500.
- Two-car garage floor: $1,000 to $3,500.
It notes reinforced concrete costs more to break up, and so does a patio attached to the house or built with masonry. Our quote separates removal, haul-off and any new pour so you can see each cost.

Before Anything Gets Broken
Texas law says a Texas 811 locate request has to go in no earlier than 14 days and no later than 48 hours before digging, not counting weekends and holidays. Texas 811 also says public utilities don't mark lines past the meter onto private property, so gas lines to a grill, power to a shop or irrigation lines may need a private locator. The City's Development FAQ points to SmithCountyMapSite.org for water and sewer line maps and warns they may be outdated, so we confirm with City staff when a line could be close.
Inside the city, the public sidewalk can't be narrowed or regraded when it's replaced (UDC Sec. 10-232), and street-side work needs a City license, bond and permit under Sec. 10-241.

Fixing the Reason It Failed
Concrete in Tyler usually breaks for the same few reasons: a root lifting one side, a downspout softening the clay under an edge, a base that washed out, or a slab that was too thin for what parked on it. Pouring new concrete over the same problem gets the same result, so we cut out roots where it's safe for the tree, rebuild and compact the base, and correct the drainage before the new pour. If the slab only sank and is still whole, lifting may be the cheaper fix; see concrete leveling.
